Q5 is inspired by the energy, feeling and expressiveness of Waacking; also known as Whacking or Punking. A dance form that was created as an expression out of oppression in the multicultural underground gay clubs of Los Angeles in the seventies. Celebrating all!

From Dance Theater to Dance Film

The original live dance theater tour of 2021 was canceled due to covid and transformed into Q5 The Movie (Series). 5 Dance theater scenes with added content behind and beyond the whack, where you get to know the performers, their mission statements and the history of the dance culture and community.
